This past week we headed out to Texas to document new properties for Remarkable Land. We have been filming properties for this company for 4 years now. In that time we have found ourselves in very remote parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Wyoming. From riverfront, desert, and mountain properties to heavily wooded acres in the sticks of East Texas, these shoots always keep us learning more about this country, land, and ourselves. Each property poses its own unique challenges. This time around we got the truck stuck in the mud a couple times, and ran into some unhappy bald eagles at one point, but in the end the trip was a huge success.
It is always important to pack light for these shoots. They often require a lot of walking through rough terrain, and added weight doesn’t help us stay efficient. We had 5 days to document 6 properties ranging from a 5 acre developmental lot to a 200+ acre lot featuring ponds, creeks, and woods. This time around we brought the R5C paired with the 70-200mm for tight detail shots, an R6 on the Ronin with a 17-40mm for dynamic moving shots of the property, and of course the drone to capture the size and terrain that each tract offers.
Now it's time to hit the edit bay and put together the story of each one of these properties. We can't wait for the next time Remarkable Land sends us out on an adventure!
